about

What's to keep the girl from crying? What's to keep the girl from fighting? What's to keep and what's to let go of? Mental illness, no matter what that means for you, impacts our lives and the lives of those around us. Finding the right support is imperative in coping with difficult situations, trauma, and mental illness. That is why programs offered by the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) are so important. I was fortunate enough to find CAMH in a time of need and their continued support has helped me to work through some of the darkest moments of my life. While attending group programming at CAMH, I took part in a music creation group facilitated by the Mobile Arts Program. Week in and week out, John and Wes worked tirelessly to help me create a song that I could be proud of. Their support throughout this process not only helped to facilitate the creation of this song, but also some much needed healing.

Programs like the Mobile Arts Program provide a creative outlet for those who are struggling. Facilities like CAMH make healing possible. It is for those reasons that I am dedicating this song to these amazing programs. The proceeds from the sale of this song will go to CAMH and the Mobile Arts Program 50/50. Tax receipts are available for the portion going to CAMH (please include/send me your mailing address so that receipts can be mailed to you)

Kelsi Hopkins Toronto, Ontario

I can't remember a time in my life when music wasn't my primary form of expression, healing, and growth. I can often be heard singing without even realizing I'm doing it. Over the course of my life my passion for music has kept me going and, while my goals and dreams have shifted, my love of singing has never wavered. ... more
